Boil Water Order Remains In Place

Essential Water Use Only Order Is Now Lifted and No Longer in Effect

Around 4:00 pm today, the new VFD motor controller was successfully installed and programmed. The Bluff well is back up and running at full capacity. Town staff and volunteers from the Lake City Area Fire District will begin directional flushing of the water system this evening by systematically opening fire hydrants from south to north. We aim to complete the system flush and deliver water samples to the Gunnison lab by the end of the day tomorrow. The essential water use order is now lifted.

The boil water order remains in place until the water sample test results come back negative for contaminants.

Instructions for property owners and businesses on how to flush, clean, and sanitize their own systems and appliances before reopening will be published when the boil water order is lifted.
